How Oligospermia is Affecting You?

Infertility, a word that can scare many people, whether they want a baby or not. Thinking about pregnancy usually refers to a woman's responsibility to be fertile and become pregnant, but not always! Sometimes the problem also comes from the male part!
Oligospermia is one of the reasons why a couple may not become pregnant without treatment. That is why it is always advisable to examine the couple and not just the woman; because cases with male infertility are more common nowadays.
While women are born with the right number of eggs for pregnancy, men produce them throughout their life. Men can be fertile even in their old age, the Chaplin case makes an impression here as he became a father at the age of 80, but sometimes some problems can stand in the way of dreaming pregnancy and prevent it from happening as expected.

A normal amount of sperm-

For males, a fertile normal sperm quantity should be around 20 million per milliliter, and if it is less than that than it is considered to be oligospermia or low sperm count.
To find out if a man is suffering from oligospermia, it is necessary that he undergoes a certain examination known as spermogram. Usually, when a couple starts trying for pregnancy, the time for a natural pregnancy to happen is 12 months normally but if that pregnancy range does not happen, the couple should go to a doctor to undergo fertility testing.

Oligospermia causes-

There are various oligospermia causes. These include-
Oligospermia can be caused by various reasons, including inflammation of the testicle, where sperms are produced. This inflammation can be due to tight clothing or habits such as smoking and alcoholism.
Another little-discussed factor is daily stress. It can also cause a low quality and low amount of sperm hence causing a transient stage of oligospermia. The consumption of extremely fatty foods can also affect the quality and quantity of spermatozoa, so natural foods, salads, and meats, in general, should be used by the couple trying for pregnancy.
Hypothyroidism is also one of the causes of oligospermia, which is specifically detected by blood tests and ultrasound. More specific cases, such as varicocele can also lead to oligospermia and decreased sperm quality because it also reduces the number of spermatozoa in humans. Some oligospermia symptoms which occur with this condition include shrunk testicles. There are certain other oligospermia symptoms too which include low sex drive, erectile dysfunction,  pain and swelling in the testicle region, lumps, signs of hormonal abnormality, etc.

Oligospermia diagnosis-

Of all the Oligospermia diagnosis tests that a man undergoes, the spermogram is the most common and can detect oligospermia precisely. Quantities of less than 20 million can be characterized as temporary infertility but the amount less than 2 million can be considered as a more serious case of oligospermia.
Oligospermia treatment-
The oligospermia treatment has shown a great variation from the time it started back then. Oligospermia leading factors are mainly related to stress, diet, lack of exercise and even clothes too tight can reduce fertility in a short time, but changing habits can be of good help.
For example, serious cases such as varicocele will be assessed by the physician and if necessary, then surgery will be performed to operate the problem, giving the man the ideal amount of sperm. However, in some cases, it may require medication even during surgery.
If the oligospermia is caused by inflammation (caused by bacteria) then there are medicines available in the market which can help increase the amount of sperm. For example, the use of specific antibiotics can work very well in that case!
Bactrim F is commonly prescribed for cases of oligospermia which are a result of bacterial infection. These are prescribed usually by the urologist who supervises the case. If oligospermia is caused by hormonal reasons, then dealing with hormone replacement, testosterone, and other male hormones can be done in this treatment.
Medications such as Vitergan and vitamins are the most prescribed ones for the treatment of transient oligospermia as they strengthen the body and stimulate the resumption of healthy sperm in an optimum amount.
If a man is diagnosed with severe oligospermia, the urologist will refer him the best possible treatment and even in vitro fertilization to attain parenthood. This makes pregnancy possible and shortens the expectation of the couple to become parents.
Brief boxers are ideal for people who want to have children as conventional underwear squeezes the testicles and can cause inflammation and low sperm cells hence increasing oligospermia risk. Giving the testicles a rest, is also a very good help, Natural formulas such as Tribulus Terrestris found in pharmacies can also increase sperm recovery and strengthen them hence reducing oligospermia risk. In case of any doubt, always look for a reliable urologist and consult the top fertility clinics in India.
